The Watch
On September 3, 2016 we created an icon with our anniversary model HS100 for Helmut Sinn's 100th birthday.
It's time to pay tribute to this special timepiece - with a new model measuring nearly 43 mm and equipped with all the technological and horological refinements that characterize our watches today. A dial of local origin, elaborately manufactured from three components, a Swiss movement, finely finished and in the Premium/Top quality level with a 60-hour power reserve and a technologically sophisticated stainless steel case with a surface hardness of 1200 Vickers and a stainless steel bezel with a hard material coating turntable in both directions in minute increments, FKM-R sealing system and triple sealed screw down crown.
The watch HS106, limited to 106 pieces, can be found here
We are auctioning off the prototype of the chronograph in aid of the "F.A.Z. readers help" campaign.
The following photos show the final model with a satin case
The Dial
The dial of the HS106 continues the tradition of the HS100 - elaborately assembled from several components and manufactured in Germany, with the typical white small sub-dials and the characteristic coloring of the distinctive red/white zebra look of the minute scale, makes the HS106 absolutely unique.
Dial construction
The Movement
The construction of the SW510 is based on the VJ7750 which has been developed in the 70s of the last century and continuously improved. It is arguably the most robust power source for a mechanical chronograph. The SW510 allows the realization of chronographs with Bicompax- and Tricompax dial.
Guinand receives this watch movement produced in Switzerland in a finely finished version with a Glucydur balance. At Guinand, each of these movements is once again adjusted in 5 positions, before the final inspection of the watch concludes with a multi-day running test.
The Housing
For the HS106 we use our large pilot's watch case - classic in proportions and thus clearly part of our pilot's chronograph series - but increased in diameter to 42.7 mm in accordance with the size of the stop counters. For the HS106, for the first time in the version with FKM-R sealing technology and a hard-coated stainless steel pilot's bezel.
The housing technology
Protected pushers and a screwed crown with 3-way sealing system and side protection enable a reliable pressure resistance of 20 bar. FKM-R sealing system for crown, pusher and base. Pilot's bezel made of stainless steel, anthracite-black hard coated /DLC) and beared in the case on 3 encapsulated ball detent systems.
Size comparison
Based on the size values, it is not easy to decide whether the watch fits the wrist, or whether it is too big or too small. To make your decision easier, we have mounted the watch on three different wrist widths that correspond to the usual sizes.
How to determine the correct strap length?
Please note that the wrists shown can only give you an approximate impression of the watch on your wrist, as the shape of the wrist is different for everyone, even if they have the same circumference.
Enjoy time
The technical prototype of the HS106 is delivered in a black leather case with a spare leather strap with a special clasp.
We would be happy to welcome the buyer of the technical prototype to a personal tour of the factory when he picks up his watch from our workshop in Frankfurt/Rödelheim.
The Strap
Leatherstrap Rally
We have develloped especially for this watch a finely perforated leather strap with quick-change spring bars black cowhide with fine perforation, available with pin buckle or folding clasp.
