The Watch

To mark Helmut Sinn’s birthday, Guinand is presenting the HS110 on September 3rd—a limited-edition model that draws upon a defining era in the brand’s history. It takes its inspiration from the Chronosport 6425 of the early 2000s, the period when Helmut Sinn relocated the company headquarters from Switzerland to Frankfurt.

The HS110 translates that model’s distinctive pilot-watch style into the present day, featuring uncompromising legibility, unique proportions, and a design that bears the unmistakable signature of Helmut Sinn. The strikingly large hands, in particular, give the watch its distinctive character. With its larger 42 mm case diameter, the HS110 presents the proportions of the historical original in a beautifully balanced way, allowing its bold design to make a powerful impression.

The Dial

The matte black dial of the Guinand HS110 features large numerals echoing the typography of its historical predecessor, the Chronosport 6425. The numerals and indices are coated with green Swiss luminous material of the highest luminosity grade (Grade X2), ensuring excellent legibility even in the dark.

At the 9 o'clock position, a dark red HS emblem within a circle subtly indicates the watch's limited-edition status. This is the spot where the original model once displayed the "3H" symbol, denoting the use of radioactive tritium luminous material. Naturally, the HS110 utilizes modern, non-radioactive Swiss luminous material of the highest intensity. The hour and minute hands—designed specifically for this model—are manufactured in Germany and coated in Switzerland with green C5 luminous material (Grade X2).

The Night View

The Guinand HS110 demonstrates its functional strengths most impressively in the dark. The numerals, indices, and hour and minute hands—featuring extensive applications of green Grade X2 Swiss luminous material—ensure exceptional legibility that remains clear and long-lasting.

This intense green luminosity also underscores the HS110’s authentic pilot’s watch character. Even at night, the design remains focused on the essentials: time information at a glance—precise, high-contrast, and distinctive.

The Case

The three-part case of the Guinand HS110 measures 42 mm in diameter; it is hand-brushed and assembled using screws. A sapphire crystal protects the dial on the front. This minimalist, functional case design deliberately echoes the tradition of pilot's watches established by Helmut Sinn.

As with the few limited-edition watches created by Helmut Sinn, the limited-edition number is engraved on the sapphire crystal case back. The non-screw-down crown is fitted with two gaskets, reliably protecting the movement against water ingress. The model designation "HS110" and the individual case serial number are also engraved between the lugs.

The Movement

The HS110 is powered by the GUI-03 manual-winding movement featuring a decentralized seconds display. Its design is based on the proven UNITAS 6498, combining the clear, robust architecture of a classic manual-winding movement with meticulous finishing by Guinand.

Geneva stripes underscore the movement's distinctive character. Each individual unit bears a unique serial number on the train bridge—a visible mark of this small, limited series and its artisanal individuality.

The Strap

Canvas-strap Pilot

Canvas strap Pilot

A high-quality strap made of dark gray canvas fabric was developed to complement the Guinand HS110. Its black leather lining, gray contrast stitching, and thickness of approximately 3.5 mm complement the pilot's watch's distinctive, functional character.

The strap has a lug width of 22 mm and is designed for use with 18 mm pin buckles or folding clasps. Quick-release spring bars allow for a fast, tool-free change on the watch case.

Size comparison

Based on the size values, it is not easy to decide whether the watch fits the wrist, or whether it is too big or too small. To make your decision easier, we have mounted the watch on three different wrist widths that correspond to the usual sizes.

How to determine the correct strap length?

Please note that the wrists shown can only give you an approximate impression of the watch on your wrist, as the shape of the wrist is different for everyone, even if they have the same circumference.
