Flying Officer 12H

Flying Officer 12h

Our Flying Officer12h is 12h version of our classic "Flying Officer with 24h dial". The housing and the arrangement of the Tricompax stop counters are based on the Guinand model 155 of the 60th. Today realized in a stainless steel housing, waterproof and equipped with sapphire glass both front and case back.

Tricompax describes the arrangement of subdials at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. This symmetrical arrangement applies among watch connoisseurs as aesthetically balanced and was first presented by Universal Genève in the 40s of the last century. Guinand´s model 155 from the 60th of last century introduced the same arrangement of subdials in a modern form.

We have revived this chronograph again. Now this watch is equipped with the robust manual winding calibre ETA/Valjoux 7760, the production of which was discontinued back in 2005. The movement has been embellished with Geneva Stripes, blued screws and the corporate logo.

The design of the dial is following our model "Flying Officer" - a timeless classic that combines the functional black dial with the aesthetically balanced Tricompax arrangement.

The stainless steel case manufactured in Germany has a diameter of 37.5 mm. In keeping with the current requirements of a modern case, from the side the case shape looks different from the original. Whereas in the 1960s the nickel-plated cases usually featured a highly domed plastic crystal and a highly domed snap-in back, the current three-part stainless steel case has a slightly domed sapphire crystal that is anti-reflecting oin the inside, as well as a screwed back with a sapphire crystal. The Flying Officer 12h with hand-wound movement is placed in a very small edition BASELWORLD 2016th
