A pocket watch – old-fashioned? No, but it’s definitely special!

A must with top hat and tails, and for everyday use a special timepiece. We gave our model a Lépine design, which means the crown is at 12 O’clock and it doesn’t have a spring lid. This makes the watch robust, suitable for everyday use and, of course, water resistant.

Thanks to the design without a sprind lid, the 1996 model also makes an excellent table clock because you can always keep an eye on the face or, if you want a slightly calmer design, the finely decorated pocket watch movement HS81. Another special feature is the indirect central second hand. In contrast to a small second like standard watches, the seconds are displayed via a central second hand, which – in contrast to today’s conventional movements – is not integrated in the power train.

To precisely set this watch, the movement has a second stop. When the crown is wound, the second hand continues to run until it reaches “60” and then it automatically stops – thus it is possible to use a time signal to set the watch to the second.
