Pilot Chrono 42 Tricompax
With our new Pilot Chrono 42 Tricompax, we have created a variant of our large pilot's watch for fans of the tricompax arrangement. The reduced, ideally symmetrical design of the dial and the matte, modern case have the DNA of a large aviator.
The bezel of the Pilot Chrono 42 Tricompax is made of hard-coated stainless steel. Mounted on 3 encapsulated locking elements, this bezel can be rotated in both directions in one-minute increments. Like the triple sealed crown, the chronograph pushers and the case back are also equipped with FKM-R seals. This chronograph is powered by the Swiss automatic movement SW510 in the top quality category with a 60-hour power reserve.
The Watch
Pilot's chronographs have fascinated watch lovers for decades. With a diameter of 42.7 mm / 1.68 inch, this chronograph delights lovers of our classic Series 40 design while fulfilling the desire for a larger watch.
The Pilot Chronograph 42 underlines its independence with a dial that dispenses with hours in favor of indices coated with luminous material.
In the Pilot Chronograph 42 Tricompax model, the tricompax arrangement of the subdials together with the hour numerals allows an ideally symmetrical dial design.

The Dial
A slightly shiny black dial not only gives this watch sporty elegance, but also good readability — both day and night.
Because the hour indices or the hour indices and the hour numbers on the Tricompax model are covered with the luminous color of the highest luminosity “SuperLuminova Grade X1”.
The Housing
For the Pilot Chronograph 42Chronograph we use our big pilot watch case — classical in the proportions and thus clearly associated with our Pilot Chronograph Series 40 — but increased in diameter to a diameter of 42.7 mm / 1.68 inch.
The protected pushers and a screwed crown with 3-way sealing system and side protection enable a reliable pressure resistance of 20 bar. The anthracite-black hard-material coated stainless steel pilot's bezel can be rotated in minute increments in both directions, and thus enables short-term stops of up to 60 minutes without starting the chronograph. Pushers, crown and back with FKM-R sealing system.
We have equipped the watch with glasses made of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal on both the front and the back. For the dial side, we have installed a slightly curved glass with an anti-reflective coating on the inside and a flat glass made of the same material for the back.
The Movement
The construction of the SW500 is based on the VJ7750 which has been developed in the 70s of the last century and continuously improved. It is arguably the most robust power source for a mechanical chronograph.
Guinand receives this watch movement produced in Switzerland in a finely finished version with a Glucydur balance. At Guinand, each of these movements is once again adjusted in 5 positions, before the final inspection of the watch concludes with a multi-day running test.
The housing technology
Protected pushers and a screwed crown with 3-way sealing system and side protection enable a reliable pressure resistance of 20 bar. FKM-R sealing system for crown, pusher and base. Pilot's bezel made of stainless steel, anthracite-black hard-coated (DLC) and beard in the case on 3 encapsulated ball detent systems.
The Strap
Antique Leather
Pilot Chrono 42 as well as Pilot Chrono 42 Tricompax have 22 mm wide lugs, to which all our 22 mm leather and rubber straps will fit.
